There are alaways some people that want to know about how to get all personalized t-shirts or personalized jerseys done. In fact following the introduction that I make for U,all of us can make it successfully through the process.

So there is what you need to get started as follows:

1. Jerseys or t shirts – cotton or a cotton/poly blend would be better
2. Heat transfer vinyl. I prefer my heat transfer vinyl (iron on vinyl) or other iron on transfer materials at persolove.com for several reasons. There are lots of heat transfers materials and they manipulate great logos and designs and print. What you need to do is to iron them on with different results.
3. A iron or heat press
4. Cricut or other electric die-cutting machine and the image(s) you want to cut.

Yesterday I made a personalized t shirt for my little son with his name ”Peter, Love you”. Here goes:
Since the iron-on vinyl has to be cut face down, I had to mirror ”Peter, Love you” in image processing software.

I always cut it out on plain paper to make sure the size and design are right in case of wasting heat transfer vinyl.

The printed paper is OK, so I get my iron on vinyl ready. I buy heat transfer vinyl in a roll, so I cut what I need. One more thing, I like about this vinyl because it is easily stored and sticks well with different result, such as glow in the dark heat transfer vinyl and metallic heat transfer vinyl, etc.

Iron on vinyl has two sides: one shiny and one matte. The shiny side is the clear, sticky, carrier that the vinyl sticks to until it's transferred. The matte side is in fact the back of the vinyl, which is adhered to your shirt. Be sure you place the vinyl on the mat SHINY SIDE DOWN.

To save heat transfer vinyl and keep the design together, ALWAYS do is to do a test cut to make sure I am only getting a "kiss" cut. You do NOT wish to cut all the way through so your angel ancestor out. You only wish to cut the vinyl...not the clear carrier on the bottom. A newer blade would've cut straight through everything, so always be sure to do a test cut to avoid wasting vinyl and time.

Remove some extras vinyl around or inside of the design (“Peter, Love you” in this case). All the left is the design you want to iron on the personalized shirts or jerseys.

Then place the design on the fabric (T shirts, jerseys, fashions apparels and so on) where I want to it to be.
Now get your household iron and heat press machine ready and read the instructions carefully, especially temperature and time.

When the time is up, remove the paper protector and carefully peel away the clear carrier sheet. It is HOT, so be careful! If you feel that some of the vinyl is too sticky to the carrier and hard to remove. It is wise to place it back down re-press for a few more seconds and try again.

Then it is done.

To make it the design more beautiful and colorful, you can also add more heat transfer vinyl of different colors (one color per piece of vinyl) and results.

Heat transfer vinyl is allowed to machine washable just keep it washed in cold water and hang to dry.
In this article, I only introduce the heat transfer vinyl instructions to make personalized t shirts. I hope it is clear to you.

To make more personalized t shirts, there are more heat transfers you can do about it. We can discuss it later.
